getting to know me

I saw where someone else did this, and I figure since most of my readers probably don't know me, I would give a little information about myself.

Occupation: Research chemist and administrator at a university.

My first thought in the morning: What time is it??? Can I get a little more sleep before my alarm goes off?

Languages spoken: English, southern redneck, and a teeny, tiny amount of Spanish.

I’m currently reading: Soil Science Simplified (it's for a class that I am taking)

My guilty pleasure TV viewing: Gossip Girl, the Bachelor, and the Bachelorette.

My favorite movie of all time: I am not sure that I really have one of these...

My signature drink: McAlister's Deli's Signature Sweet Tea.

My favorite venue to take in a game: Consol Energy Center (hockey is my new fav sport) or PNC Park (great view of the city)

Facebook or Twitter: Twitter (I deleted my facebook account over a year ago)

Netflix or Redbox: Netflix (though I'm considering Redbox since I no longer have the discs package to my Netflix account)

Kindle or Nook or the real thing: Real thing. But I also own a Nook

Three people, one dinner – I would invite: Living: Betty White, Kathy Reichs, Bill Bass (the last two are anthropologists; I think Betty White would just spice the thing up!)

Things I can do without: Drama. One of the greatest disappointments of my adult life is learning that people don't really grow up.

The quality I most value in myself: Knowing my position and sticking to it. And I am a fan of equality. I get very irritated when I see people acting differently toward different people without reason.

My favorite discovery: That the city that I am living in has a huge heart. It almost rivals the heart of the state that I am from.

My most significant lesson learned: The closing of a door is not the end of the world. A new one will open eventually.

Project I’m energized by: Assembling furniture. Yeah, it's weird. I know.

I’m most inspired by: Selfless people.

People will be surprised that I: work better around people, but not when they're working on the same projects I am working on.
