I wrote the title of this post on Monday because it was something I wanted to address. Then I got so busy dealing with the demanding people, that I didn't have time to write anything and I haven't gotten back to it until now. Maybe that will lead to a little more perspective.
Why do people think that it is ok to just demand things rather than "ask" for them? And I'm not talking about small children here. I'm talking about full fledged adults. People who should know better than to just demand something. Do they not teach yankees that you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar? Or is this just a southern thing? My boss asks instead of demands, and he's not even American! I feel like I should instate an "ask and you shall receive" policy. Which includes "if you don't ask, you shall be left waiting."
I think this post is going to end up being a lot shorter than I had anticipated. Most of the rant has gone out of me by now.
What do y'all think? Am I being unreasonable? Are these types of mannerisms no longer valid?
Come back down South! Actually, who am I kidding, there are some people down here who do this too!
